I have been focused on finishing as much as I possibly can before I start working a day job again. Today is the first day of said job. Obviously one job provides a consistent paycheck and will be my higher priority. I am however dedicated to working on Project Explore and will not stop doing so. I will likely pour my remaining free time into it whenever possible. The only thing that might change is my ability to instantly answer everyone that messages/emails me. Even now, Steam messages end up taking at least an hour of my day to read, write, and re-focus on my work.
New Rendering System
You may notice that the game isn't running like crap even though there are a ton of trees and rocks piled up on screen. It is raining as well which generally causes even higher dips in the framerate. Well not anymore! I have changed the way rendering works by organizing all the drawing into batches with matching texture pages. This means less texture pages being swapped and that means better performance. Much better performance.
Console Commands Are Fun
I made sure to set up a few more console commands for preview build 0.2.2.3. It is hard to test out new tools if you can't even spawn a tree. Now you can spawn as much as you would like.
