Over the last day or so, I've added a whole lot of new stuff. All of which has greatly improved the quality of Project Explore. It's time for pictures!
We now have added a main menu and an epic soundtrack for it! The menu greatly increases the games appeal and gives the player a chance to get an idea of what they are getting into.
The new menu also brings with it... Settings! Music and sound effect volume can be changed now. The water can be turned off which can DRASTICALLY increase your frame rate. Post draw bloom can also be switched on and off, which can also DRASTICALLY increase your frame rate.
The launcher has also been updated with some new features! The download rate has been moved below the download size display. I've added a reset button to the launcher which allows you to delete any downloaded files. This can be used if a file is corrupt or if we ever update without changing the version number. A bug that crashed the launcher after launching Project Explore itself has been fixed as well.
A new 'FPS Display' has been added to the top right of the screen to help us make sure people report issues with the correct information. I've also added a black box behind the text at the top right. This is to make sure the text is easier to read.
Roads have been added to the game! A great new addition to the world of Project Explore. The roads help the player navigate and find direction in the game.
I've been working on finishing a lot of the art for the inventory as well! So far I've completed 35 out of 56 drawings. A lot of the code for the game has been further optimized as well. I was able to reduce the 'item use' script by 147 lines of code, as well as remove 49 'for' loops within the script.
The alpha will be out very soon! I'm going to go back to working on the multiplayer and hopefully get that finished within the next week or so. At the moment, we are still missing a lot of the character art. Until the art is complete, the alpha cannot be released. I'm also working tirelessly to bring more content to the world of Project Explore.
