Over the past few days I've put a lot of work into testing out the game and pushing for more features. What I've managed to come up with between my 9 hour shifts during Black Friday week and some other business, is this...
I've put a lot of thought into the crafting system and came to the conclusion that it does NOT need it's own page. It's a hassle to click on "Crafting" every single time you want to craft something. It's an even bigger hassle to have to fill out a recipe for it. So I'm going to provide a list of craft-able items on the side of the inventory.
As you lose sanity you will be forced to endure the symptoms of it. It begins with a black fog rolling in. This does not hurt you, but poses as a warning for you to tend to yourself soon. I still need to implement the further steps of the sanity progression system.
I will end this post with a screenshot of a nice little screenshot I took before. If only trees grew around your fort. That would be lovely.
Thank you so much for your support and I hope to hear more from everybody as the game progresses. I feel like the game is finally getting somewhere. The crafting system was a HUGE step that I was afraid to take but after only 2 hours of work, the hurdle was made, successfully. I feel like anything is possible now it's just a matter of time until Project Explore is completed.
An important note... Project Explore may be receiving a name change in the future. More on that later though. :)
This post is a bit more personal but it is directly related to the development of Project Explore.
People will not always support you in your creative endeavors, and you have to learn to accept that. It's easy to do something greater than yourself with people carrying you. It's hard to do it all by yourself. I'm glad that I took on this project because I've learned that.
It's not just about creating something massive, it's about proving to yourself that you can do anything you set your mind to. You might be from a wealthy background, or a less fortunate background. You may as well be from another planet because it doesn't matter where you come from.
Who you were before does not matter but who you are today. What you have done that left a mark that no living being can out live and that nobody can take away from you even after your time has passed.
You can be invincible. You can be immortal. You can be the inspiration for thousands of great artists for the rest of human existence. Your name could read from the front page of a book millions of years after you are gone. But I shouldn't use the term gone, no, because you never really leave, you will always be creating another legacy.
You will pass on every great deed you've ever done and every person who comes into contact with you will do the same whether they like it or not.
This week I began my venture into the biggest challenges I've yet faced, external storage and lighting.
I'll be showing a lot of images in this post. Since this is quite a large update, it deserves quite a large post. Each image has a caption explaining what it is your seeing.
I made sure that toggling the fires wasn't to OP and also was easy enough to not be a pain.
I have a feeling that campfires might be used like this to smokescreen other players passing by. But to be fair, crafting these things won't be cheap.
I'm not sure exactly how bright the torch SHOULD be but I DO know that it needs to be in the game.
Thanks for your time and I hope you guys enjoyed this post!
